Background:

Established in 2013, the Education Accountability System Oversight Committee (EASOC) is charged with monitoring the progress and outcomes of the education accountability system, making recommendations for changes to the accountability system, and reporting biennially to the education committees of the Legislature.

The EASOC consists of seven members: two members of the House of Representatives; two members of the Senate; two members appointed by the Governor; and one non-legislative member of the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee.

Summary of Bill:

Provisions establishing and referencing the Education Accountability System Oversight Committee in statute are repealed.

Appropriation: None.

Fiscal Note: Available.

Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of the session in which the bill is passed.
