(x) Two eligible family members of members of the United States armed forces who died while in service to their country, or as a result of their service, appointed by the secretary of state; and
(xi) Two family members of members of the United States armed forces who served in the Iraq War or the War in Afghanistan who took their life by suicide, appointed by the secretary of state"
On page 2, line 12, after "(b)" insert "Identify an executive sponsor from the veteran community;
(c)"
Renumber the remaining subsections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.
On page 2, at the beginning of line 33, beginning with "senate" strike all material through "research," on line 34 and insert "the department of veterans affairs"
| EFFECT: Increases the workgroup membership to include two veterans, two Gold Star family members, and two family members of service members who served in Iraq or Afghanistan and took their lives by suicide. Directs the workgroup to identify an executive sponsor from the veteran community. Requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to jointly staff the work group instead of the Office of Program Research and Senate Committee Services.
