On page 2, beginning on line 1, strike all of subsections (5) and (6)
Beginning on page 2, line 19, strike all of section 2 and insert the following:
"NEW SECTION. Sec. 2. The department of labor and industries must reach out to and provide educational and technical support to employers, including public employers, related to ergonomic hazards and ergonomic injury prevention. These efforts should be coordinated with business associations, including those representing small businesses."
On page 3, beginning on line 6, after "insert" strike "amending RCW
49.17.370; and creating a new section" and insert "and creating new sections"
EFFECT: Modifies the findings and replaces provisions removing the restriction on the regulation of work-related musculoskeletal disorders and ergonomics and prohibitions on the adoption of more than one standard in any 12-month period with a requirement that L&I reach out to and provide educational and technical support to employers related to ergonomic hazards and ergonomic injury prevention.
