Duties of the Statute Law Committee.
The primary responsibilities of the Statute Law Committee (Committee) and the Code Reviser (Reviser) are to periodically codify, index, and publish the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and to revise, correct, and harmonize the statutes by means of administrative or suggested legislative action.  The Committee, or the Reviser with the approval of the Committee, must periodically make written recommendations to the Legislature concerning deficiencies, conflicts, or obsolete provisions in the RCW.

Corrections are made to the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) that:

  • merge double amendments to RCW sections that originated from two separate 2020 bills, each enacted without reference to the other;
  • update and correct RCW citations impacted by the creation of a new RCW title related to environmental statutes;
  • make corrections to the effective date of several provisions of the Uniform Guardianship Act as it relates to adult guardianships and conservatorships;
  • modify the effective date in a provision of the Uniform Guardianship Act as it relates to guardianship of minors due to the delay of the repeal of RCW 26.10; and
  • remove an obsolete provision.
