Background:

A curator of the law, the code reviser, makes recommendations to the Legislature for correction or removal of deficiencies, conflicts, or obsolete provisions of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW).  These are technical non-substantive amendments to the RCW to fix internal references, cross references, obsolete terminology, double amendments, or otherwise improve the form of the RCW.  All proposed legislation must be annotated to show the purposes, reasons, and history.

Summary of Bill:

Revisions are made to the RCW that:

  • eliminate an obsolete section;
  • merge double amendments created when sections were amended in 2020;
  • update and correct many of the citations impacted by chapter 20, Laws of 2020;
  • corrects an erroneous chapter reference in chapter 26.51; and
  • clarify references to the effective date of chapter 11.130.
