| EFFECT: Places the Domestic Violent Extremism Commission (Commission) in the Office of the Lieutenant Governor (LGO) rather than the Office of the Attorney General (AGO). Replaces the representative from the AGO as a member on the Commission with a representative from the LGO. Replaces the appointing authority for the representative with expertise in public health and the six representatives from groups protected under the hate crime statute, from the Attorney General to the Lieutenant Governor. Directs the LGO rather than the AGO to administer and provide staff support to the Commission. Requires the Lieutenant Governor, rather than the Attorney General, to produce and publish the reports required under the act.
