| EFFECT: Places the Domestic Violent Extremism Commission (Commission) in the Washington State Human Rights Commission (WSHRC) rather than the Office of the Attorney General (AGO). Replaces the representative from the AGO as a member on the Commission with a representative from the WSHRC. Replaces the appointing authority for the representative with expertise in public health and the six representatives from groups protected under the hate crime statute, from the Attorney General to the Executive Director of the WSHRC. Directs the WSHRC rather than the AGO to administer and provide staff support to the Commission. Requires the Executive Director of the WSHRC, rather than the Attorney General, to produce and publish the reports required under the act.
