On page 15, after line 12, insert the following:
"(4) Nothing in this section prohibits accepted animal husbandry practices or prohibits a licensed veterinarian or certified veterinary technician from performing procedures on an animal that are accepted veterinary medical practices."
| EFFECT: Provides that animals may be seized under a warrant if a law enforcement or animal control officer has probable cause to believe that a person owns, cares for, or resides with an animal in violation of a pre-trial court order, instead of in violation of an order issued under RCW 16.52.117 (animal fighting), 16.52.205 (first degree animal cruelty), or 16.52.207 (second degree animal cruelty); States that nothing in the second-degree animal cruelty law prohibits accepted animal husbandry practices or the performance of accepted veterinary medical practices by licensed or certified individuals. |
