On page 26, beginning on line 28 of the striking amendment, after "Sec. 301." strike all material through "immediately" on line 31 and insert "Except for section 105 of this act, this act takes effect March 1, 2026"

On page 26, after line 31 of the striking amendment, insert the following:

"NEW SECTION. Sec. 302. This act applies only to leases or rental

agreements that are entered into or renewed on or after the effective

date of this section.”

Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct any

internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Removes the emergency clause and immediate effective date, and instead provides an effective date of March 1, 2026, for all sections of the bill except for the section requiring the Attorney General's Office to publish model lease provisions regarding rent and fee increases by January 1, 2026. Provides that the bill applies only to leases or rental agreements that are entered into or renewed on or after the effective date of the bill.
