EFFECT: Makes the opportunity to cure provision mandatory rather than optional by requiring a tenant to offer a landlord an opportunity to cure an unauthorized rent increase before the tenant may exercise the option to terminate the rental agreement. Removes references to other remedies or relief available under the Residential Landlord-Tenant Act, the Manufactured/Mobile Home Landlord-Tenant Act, and other laws.
