On page 6, after line 30, insert the following:
"(8) In adopting provisions of the International Wildland Urban Interface Code, the council may not incorporate appendix 104.6 or 104.6.1 of the International Wildland Urban Interface Code. The council may not prohibit fireworks from being used or possessed within wildland urban interface areas and may not seize, take, remove, or cause to be removed any fireworks within a wildland urban interface area. A code official may prohibit the lighting of fireworks when there is a high risk of wildfire in the area, or a person is in violation of local or state fireworks laws."
| EFFECT: Prohibits the State Building Code Council (SBCC) from prohibiting fireworks from being used or possessed within wildland urban interface areas. Prohibits the SBCC from seizing or removing fireworks within a wildland urban interface area. Prohibits the SBCC from adopting the portion of the International Wildland Urban Interface Code that prohibits fireworks from being used or possessed within a wildland urban interface area and allows a code official to seize or remove fireworks within a wildland urban interface code. Allows a code official to prohibit the lighting of fireworks in specified circumstances.
