On page 2, beginning on line 13, after "(1)" strike "By June 30, 2027, the department shall close Yakima Valley school and" and insert "(a) The department shall close"
On page 2, after line 15, insert the following:
"(b) The department shall close Yakima Valley school and relocate current residents consistent with the requirements of subsections (2) through (4) of this section when it has provided a certification to the legislature and the governor that at least 10 other states have a larger population of people experiencing homelessness than Washington as measured by the United States department of housing and urban development's annual homelessness assessment report or equivalent successor report."
On page 3, line 33, after "are met))" strike "by June 30, 2027" and insert "when certification is provided under section 2(1)(b) of this act"

| EFFECT: Removes the definitive June 30, 2027, closure date for Yakima Valley School residential habilitation center, and instead provides that the Department of Social and Health Services must close the facility when it has provided certification to the Governor and the Legislature that at least 10 other states have a larger population of people experiencing homelessness than Washington. |
