On page 2, line 22, after "(b)" insert "If the individual is subject to RCW 41.56.120 or RCW 41.80.060, the disqualification imposed under this section remains in effect until the strike is terminated, unless the individual is exempt from the disqualification under subsection (2) of this section. Prior to receiving any benefits under this section, an individual must, at the time of application, attest that he or she is not disqualified from benefits based on engaging in an unprotected strike under RCW 41.56.120 or RCW 41.80.060.

| EFFECT: Excludes a striking worker from qualifying for unemployment insurance benefits under the bill if the worker is subject to the provisions concerning labor strikes under the Public Employees' Collective Bargaining Act or the Personnel System Reform Act, which govern collective bargaining rights for public employees. Requires an individual to attest that he or she is not disqualified from benefits based on engaging in an unprotected strike under those laws prior to receiving any benefits. |
