On page 2, after line 30, insert the following:

"(4) The department shall, within available funds, hold a public comment period to solicit feedback for the purpose of identifying strategies to mitigate the impact of the closure required in subsection (1) of this section on the communities that are most directly affected. The public comment period must be at least 90 days and must conclude no later than November 1, 2025."

EFFECT: Requires the Department of Social and Health Services to hold a 90-day public comment period to solicit public feedback to identify strategies to mitigate the impact on the communities affected by the closures of the Rainier School.
