EFFECT: Removes ongoing funding provided to the Office of Public Defense to reduce caseloads limits for contracted defense attorneys who represent indigent clients on appeal to the Washington Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. Also eliminates funding for 1 FTE to assist with administering the appellate contracts.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Reduces General Fund - State by $2,045,000.

FOUR-YEAR OUTLOOK EXPENDITURE EFFECT:

Decreases General Fund - State by $9.9 million.
