On page 387, line 9, increase the general fund-state appropriation for fiscal year 2027 by $2,000,000
On page 387, line 23, correct the total.
On page 393, after line 20, insert the following:
"(q) $2,000,000 of the general-fund state appropriation for fiscal year 2027 is provided solely for implementation of Initiative 26-001 (parents bill of rights) to codify parental rights in public education, prevent religious discrimination against students and families, ensure timely parental access to classroom materials, student health information, educational records, disciplinary information, and to provide advanced notice of sensitive classroom discussions and lessons for the purposes of permitting families to opt out of such instruction. If the initiative is not enacted by June 30, 2027, the amount provided in this subsection shall lapse."
| EFFECT: Provides funding for OSPI to implement Initiative 26-001 (Parents Bill of Rights) to codify parental rights in public education, prevent religious discrimination against students and families, ensure timely parental access to classroom materials, student health information, educational records, disciplinary information, and to provide advanced notice of sensitive classroom discussions and lessons for the purposes of permitting families to opt out of such instruction.
