On page 4, line 32, after "does:", strike everything and insert "Every notice of rent increase must include the following:

(a) A statement that Washington law limits the amount a tenant’s rent and other recurring or periodic charges identified in the rental agreement can be increased once every 12 months by up to 7 percent.

(b) A statement that the landlord may be exempt from the 7 percent limit on increases for rent and other recurring or periodic charges, and if such an exemption applies, the landlord shall provide a statement supporting the exemption.

(c) A statement describing the specific exemption provided by this act and applicable to the dwelling unit to increase rent and other recurring or periodic charges identified in the rental agreement above 7 percent and any supporting information to support the claimed exemption."

EFFECT: To remove the statutory notice form and replace with the required elements of the notice.
