On page 2, after line 20, insert the following:

"(ii) Whether the victim injured was a peace officer, which shall be given great weight;"

Reletter the remaining subsections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

On page 2, line 29, after "court;" strike "and"

On page 2, line 34, after "court" insert ";

(vi) The ability of the person to comply with the conditions of a less restrictive disposition imposed by the court; and

(vii) For the purposes of this section, would not adequately protect the community means:

(A) There is a substantial risk that:

(I) Harm will be inflicted upon another person; or

(II) Harm will be inflicted upon the property of another person; or

(B) The juvenile's behavior demonstrates an unwillingness to cooperate with treatment or other rehabilitative efforts such that the offender has placed themselves, another, or the community at large, at a risk of harm"

Correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Requires the court to consider, and give great weight, if the victim injured was a peace officer.

Requires the court to consider the juvenile's ability to comply with the conditions of a less restrictive disposition when imposed by a court. Defines what would not adequately protect the community in the section.
