On page 1, after line 12, insert the following:

"(b) The attorney general may not issue written civil investigative demands for documents, oral testimony, and answers to written interrogatories to small businesses as defined in RCW 39.26.010 that are less than three years old when investigating possible violations of chapters 49.46, 49.48, and 49.52 RCW unless the attorney general makes a documented finding of suspected imminent violation by the entity."

EFFECT: Prevents the attorney general from issuing written civil investigative demands to new small businesses investigating possible violations of wage laws, unless the attorney general makes certain documented findings.
