On page 394, after line 7, insert the following:

"(19) The department shall transfer $500,000 from the fruit and vegetable inspection account to the plant pest account within the local agricultural fund. The amount transferred must be derived from fees collected for state inspections of tree fruit and shall be used solely to reimburse county horticultural pest and disease boards for the cost of pest control activities, including tree removal, conducted under their existing authority in chapters 15.08 and 15.09 RCW. The transfer of funds shall occur by June 30, 2026."

EFFECT: Directs the Department of Agriculture to transfer funds between two nonappropriated accounts. Specifies that the transferred funds are to be used solely to reimburse county horticultural pest and disease boards for certain activities.
