Background:

Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was raised in Seattle, Washington, from the age of one.  She attended West Seattle High School and the Ida B. Wells School for Social Justice.  She graduated from the University of Washington School of Psychology in June 2024.  She was killed at the age of 26 on September 31, 2024, in the West Bank, Palestine.

Summary of Bill:

The Legislature requests that the United States open a transparent, thorough, and independent investigation into the killing of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi.

 

The Legislature requests the House Joint Memorial be transmitted to the United States President, the United States Secretary of State, the United States Department of Justice, the President of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, and the United States Senate and House of Representatives.
