WHEREAS, The Bremerton High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team has demonstrated exceptional athleticism, teamwork, and dedication throughout the season; and

WHEREAS, The team achieved an outstanding victory, securing the 2A State Championship, marking a historic moment for Bremerton High School basketball; and

WHEREAS, The last Bremerton team to capture a state championship was East High, which won back-to-back titles in 1973-74, making this victory a long-awaited and well-earned achievement; and

WHEREAS, The Bremerton High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team finished the season with an impressive 22-5 win/loss record, improving upon last year's remarkable 5th place finish; and

WHEREAS, The championship-winning roster includes two freshmen, five sophomores, three juniors, and two seniors, demonstrating a bright future for the program; and

WHEREAS, In the championship game, the team secured a 74-53 victory, with an outstanding performance that included 34 points scored by the tournament's most valuable player, with 27 points in the first half, leading Bremerton to a commanding 43-29 halftime lead; and

WHEREAS, The team's success is a testament to their hard work, perseverance, and the invaluable leadership of their coaching staff, who have guided these student-athletes to excellence; and

WHEREAS, The unwavering support from the school administration, faculty, families, and the broader Bremerton community has played an essential role in the team's journey, fostering a spirit of unity and pride;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Washington State House of Representatives hereby commend and congratulate the Bremerton High School Basketball Team for their extraordinary achievement in securing the 2A State Championship, recognizing their dedication, perseverance, and contributions to their school and community; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to the members of the Bremerton High School Basketball Team, their coaching staff, and school administration as an expression of admiration and celebration of their achievements.
