WHEREAS, It is the tradition of the Washington State legislature to recognize and honor excellence in all fields and endeavors; and

WHEREAS, The Apple Blossom Festival started in 1919 and is the oldest major festival in Washington, attracting over 100,000 people over 11 days to the Wenatchee area; and

WHEREAS, The Festival's mission is to provide an annual family-oriented event that celebrates and showcases the people, heritage, and fruit industry in that community; and

WHEREAS, Each year, three young women are chosen as a queen and two princesses to represent the Apple Blossom Festival in their royal court; and

WHEREAS, The Washington State Apple Blossom Festival in Wenatchee treats its royalty program as much more than a pageant, it is a community ambassador and leadership program; and

WHEREAS, Brielle Precht of East Wenatchee was selected as queen, and Kaylee Pearsons of East Wenatchee and Parker Averi of Wenatchee were selected as princesses; and

WHEREAS, Brielle Precht attends Eastmont High School and Wenatchee Valley College, where she serves on the school board, competes in club rugby, and tutors local children with special needs. After graduation Brielle plans to become an emergency room nurse, and create an app for children with type 1 diabetes; and

WHEREAS, Kaylee Pearsons attends Eastmont High School where she is the President of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Secretary of National Honor Society, a Key Club member, and tennis captain. Kaylee volunteers at memory care facilities with her dog to visit residents, is actively involved in serving kids at her church, and works for Wenatchee Parks and Recreation during the summer. After graduation, Kaylee plans to pursue neuroscience at Gonzaga University in Spokane; and

WHEREAS, Parker Averi attends Wenatchee High School (WHS), where she serves as the captain of the varsity track team and was recognized by her teammates with the "most inspirational award." Parker is the Vice President of Key Club, Culture Coordinator for WHS, President of the Safe Space Club, and a member of the National Honor Society. After graduation Parker plans to attend Montana State University to study fish and ecology conservation with hopes of returning to Wenatchee to work for the public utility district;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor and recognize the 2026 Apple Blossom Festival Royal Court for excellent achievement in their studies, acts of service, sports, club leadership, hobbies, and other pursuits; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk to Queen Brielle Precht, Princess Kaylee Pearsons, Princess Parker Averi, and to the organizers of the Apple Blossom Festival.
