AN ACT Relating to the authority of counties to engage in economic development; and adding a new section to chapter 36.01 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 36.01 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) Counties are hereby authorized to engage in economic development activity.

          (2) In furtherance of subsection (1) of this section, counties may enter into contracts with other governmental bodies, public agencies, and private corporations.
