AN ACT Relating to applications for industrial insurance compensation; and adding a new section to chapter 51.28 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 51.28 RCW to read as follows:

          Each application for compensation filed under this title shall be assigned a claim number by the department or self-insurer as the case may be.  In addition, the applicant shall provide on each application his or her social security number or similar identifying number, which number shall also be used to identify the claim application.
