AN ACT Relating to group self-insurance for industrial insurance purposes; and adding a new section to chapter 51.14 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 51.14 RCW to read as follows:

          Associations of the forest industry and chartered as such in the state of Washington may enter into an agreement to form a self-insurance group.  Such a self-insurance group shall be organized and operated under rules promulgated by the director under RCW 51.14.160.  Such a self-insurance group shall be deemed an employer for the purposes of this chapter and may qualify as a self-insurer if it meets all the other requirements of this chapter.
