AN ACT Relating to fingerprinting children; and adding new sections to chapter 74.15 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.     The department of social and health services shall establish a program for fingerprinting children who are enrolled in licensed day care facilities.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.     The department shall promulgate rules specifying that the fingerprinting program is voluntary and subject to the approval of the child's parents or guardian.  The department shall promulgate such other rules as may be necessary to carry out the fingerprinting program.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 3.     Sections 1 and 2 of this act are each added to chapter 74.15 RCW.
