BACKGROUND:
Reference is made in various places in Washington statutes to the state's industrial insurance system as the "workmen's compensation" system. There has been no systematic removal of this obsolete reference from the code.
SUMMARY:
SUBSTITUTE BILL: Throughout the Washington statutes, references to "workmen's compensation" are changed to "workers' compensation." References to "workmen" are changed to "workers."
SUBSTITUTE BILL COMPARED TO ORIGINAL: The substitute bill adds provisions that change references to "workmen" to "workers."
