BACKGROUND:

 

County auditors generally impose charges to record documents.

 

However, county auditors are required to record without charge the honorable discharge of any veteran who was a resident of the county at the time of his or her enlistment or induction into the Armed Forces.

 

SUMMARY:

 

County auditors are required to record without charge the honorable discharge of any veteran who is residing in Washington state.
