BACKGROUND:
The Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) may review the budgets of regulated utilities and reject any item of the budget. Currently the UTC must complete its review and note objections within 60 days. This period, in some more complex cases, may not allow for adequate review or require uneconomical short term staff augmentation.
SUMMARY:
The period for reviewing utility budgets and noting objections is extended to 90 days.
