BACKGROUND:
The Joint Select Committee on Disability Employment and Economic Participation recognized that the state does not currently collect data on the number of employed or unemployed persons of disability. The committee recommended that the Employment Security Department should develop a proposal for collection of such data to facilitate the development of targeted programs to assist persons of disability in finding and maintaining employment.
SUMMARY:
The Employment Security Department is directed to develop proposals for collection of data on employment of persons of disability and submit the proposals to the Commerce and Labor committees and Ways and Means committees of the Senate and the House of Representatives by December 1, 1987.
