BACKGROUND:

 

Some sections of the gambling chapter are lengthy and contain misplaced material.  The current organization causes confusion and makes the amendment process unwieldy.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The definition and authorized gambling activity sections are each divided into shorter sections.  The authorization to conduct wagering found in the definition section is placed in a separate section.  Other housekeeping changes are made.

 

Fiscal Note:    Not Requested.

 

Effective Date:The bill contains an emergency clause and takes effect immediately.
