BACKGROUND:
During the 1986 interim, the Joint Select Committee on Disability Employment and Economic Participation held hearings and conducted surveys, studying issues such as the barriers to employment experienced by persons of disability. The committee reported twenty-three recommendations to help achieve employment and economic independence for persons of disability.
SUMMARY:
The Governor's Committee on Disability Issues and Employment and the Developmental Disabilities Planning Council are directed to monitor the progress made in implementing the recommendations of the Joint Select Committee on Disability Employment and Economic Participation and report to the governor and the Commerce and Labor committees and the Ways and Means committees of the Senate and House of Representatives by January 1, 1988.
