AS PASSED SENATE, MARCH 18, 1987
BACKGROUND:
The penalties and procedures regarding violations of the state's asbestos removal statutes (Chapter 49.26 RCW) are different than the penalties and procedures for other health and safety violations covered under the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act. As a result, considerable administrative problems occur when employers are cited for asbestos violations and other health and safety violations at the same time.
SUMMARY:
The penalties, citations and administrative procedures for asbestos removal violations are changed to those provided for all violations of the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (Chapter 49.17 RCW).
