AS PASSED SENATE, MARCH 13, 1987
BACKGROUND:
In 1986 the Legislature provided for a state clearinghouse for educational information to be established by the Superintendent of Public Instruction to facilitate access to research in elementary and secondary education and innovative and model programs in schools. Nominal fees may be charged to school districts for services provided by the clearinghouse but the legislation establishing the clearinghouse did not establish a fund for handling fee revenues.
SUMMARY:
A revolving fund is established with the State Treasurer for the state clearinghouse for educational information. The fund consists of funds appropriated, gifts or grants and fee revenues. The Superintendent is authorized to spend fund money for the reproduction, handling and delivery of information provided by the clearinghouse. No appropriation is requested.
Fiscal Note: none requested
