BACKGROUND:
Under law, school districts have general authority to accept gifts, grants, and contributions from public or private sources which may be used for the benefit of the district or its students. There is no obligation that districts use a portion of such moneys to pay for increased support service costs which result from the receipt of the gift, grant or contribution.
SUMMARY:
School district boards of directors are encouraged to use a portion of gifts and grants they may receive to pay for any increased support service costs incurred as a result of the receipt of the gifts or grants.
