AN ACT Relating to employment of reservists; and adding a new section to chapter 73.16 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 73.16 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) Employers may not refuse a position of employment to any person because that person is a military reservist or member of the national guard.

          (2) Any person refused a position of employment in violation of this section shall be entitled to an action against the employer in accordance with the provisions of RCW 73.16.061.
