AN ACT Relating to motor vehicle highway safety; adding a new section to chapter 48.22 RCW; and creating a new section.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 48.22 RCW to read as follows:

          No private passenger automobile insurance policy providing comprehensive coverage for motor vehicle damage may contain a deductible or similar reduction in coverage for the repair or replacement of the vehicle's windshield, door glass, or other windows.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.     This act shall apply to private passenger automobile insurance policies issued or renewed on or after January 1, 1989.
