AN ACT Relating to curriculum based assessment of students for learning disabled and transitional bilingual programs; and adding a new section to chapter 28A.03 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28A.03 RCW to read as follows:

          By July 1, 1988, the superintendent of public instruction shall develop and adopt a curriculum based assessment procedure, an assessment instrument, and rules allowing school districts to elect to use a curriculum based assessment instrument to determine a student's eligibility for participation in programs for the learning disabled under chapter 28A.13 RCW and transitional bilingual programs under RCW 28A.58.800 through 28A.58.810.
