AN ACT Relating to students; and creating new sections.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. School districts may offer the following services before the school year begins: Student health screening, school placement and learning readiness assessment, and student and parent school orientation. The principle objective of the program is to maximize academic learning time by decreasing interruptions during the school year.
NEW SECTION. Sec. 2. School districts may use funds appropriated in section 506, chapter 7, Laws of 1987 1st ex. sess., for the purposes of early childhood programs and parental participation programs under subsection (8)(d) (i) and (iii) of that section.
