AN ACT Relating to local government; and amending RCW 4.96.040.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

        Sec. 1.  Section 2, chapter 190, Laws of 1981 and RCW 4.96.040 are each amended to read as follows:

          Elected officials, appointed members, and employees of special purpose districts and conservation districts are immune from civil liability for damages arising from actions performed within the scope of their official duties or employment, but liability shall remain on the special purpose districts and conservation districts for the tortious conduct of its officials under RCW 4.96.010.
