AN ACT Relating to bumpers on pickup trucks; and adding a new section to chapter 46.37 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 46.37 RCW to read as follows:

          After January 1, 1989, no new truck with a gross vehicle weight of less than ten thousand pounds may be sold in this state unless the truck is equipped with a bumper adequate to protect the body of the truck from damage in a collision with a fixed object at two and one-half miles per hour.
