AN ACT Relating to the disclosure of tax consequences in personal injury  actions; and adding a new section to chapter 5.40 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 5.40 RCW to read as follows:

          The trier of fact shall be informed that the amount of any damages received on account of personal injuries is excluded from gross income for purposes of federal income tax.
