WHEREAS, It is the policy of the state of Washington that persons with physical, mental, or sensory disabilities shall be given equal opportunities in employment; and

          WHEREAS, The Legislature recognizes that handicapped persons have faced unfair discrimination in employment; and

          WHEREAS, Both the Washington State Senate and House of Representatives are developing affirmative action guidelines for their respective personnel policies;

          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Senate of the State of Washington, the House of Representatives concurring, That the personnel policies of the Washington State Senate and House of Representatives shall include persons of disability as a minority group in their affirmative action guidelines.
