BACKGROUND:

 

Park and recreation districts are special districts authorized to provide a variety of park and recreation facilities and improvements.  A park and recreation district is governed by an elected five member board of commissioners.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Park and recreation districts are authorized expressly to provide community centers and senior citizen centers.
