AS PASSED HOUSE FEBRUARY 26, 1990
BACKGROUND:
The Washington Committee for Recycling Markets was created during the 1989 legislative session to develop recommendations to improve markets for recyclable materials. The committee is authorized to use appropriated state funds to conduct studies if private sources contribute a 50 percent match. The committee is scheduled to expire on November 30, 1990.
SUMMARY:
The requirement that state funds are matched by private funds is removed. Instead, the recycling markets committee must attempt to obtain matching funds or in-kind services from private industry. The expiration date of the committee is extended to June 30, 1991.
