(1) Persons authorized as osteopathic physicians' acupuncture assistants shall be restricted in their activities to only those procedures which a duly licensed, supervising osteopathic physician may request them to do. Under no circumstances may an osteopathic physician's acupuncture assistant perform any diagnosis of patients or recommend or prescribe any forms of treatment or medication.
(2) An acupuncture assistant shall treat patients only under the direct supervision of a physician who is present on the same premises where the treatment is to be given.
(3) An osteopathic physician shall not employ or supervise more than one acupuncture assistant.
