Beginning January 1, 2009:
(1) Each insurer that has long-term care insurance policies approved for sale in this state must certify annually that all of its insurance producers engaged in the sale, solicitation or negotiation of long-term care insurance coverage in this state have:
(a) Completed the eight-hour, one-time long-term care education and training course required by RCW
48.83.130 (2)(a)(i) prior to selling, soliciting, or negotiating the company's long-term care insurance coverage in this state; and
(b) If due, completed the required four-hour long-term care continuing education requirement imposed by RCW
48.83.130 (2)(b).
(2) The certification must be provided to the commissioner by the insurer annually on or before March 31st. The certification must be sent via email to the producer licensing and oversight program manager in the commissioner's office. A form for this purpose is available on the commissioner's website at: www.insurance.wa.gov.
