For students who enter the ninth grade or begin the equivalent of a four-year high school program as of July 1, 2016, (the class of 2020) or later, the graduation requirements shall consist of:
(1) State credit and subject area requirements as established in WAC
180-51-067,
180-51-068, or
180-51-210 in this chapter, depending on the credit graduation requirements aligned with the year the student entered ninth grade; and, credit and subject area requirements established by local school boards. Students in the class of 2019 and the class of 2020 in districts with a waiver to delay implementation of WAC
180-51-068 shall graduate with the credit and subject area requirements of WAC
180-51-067 until the expiration of the waiver.
(2) A high school and beyond plan that must include the minimum requirements established in RCW
28A.230.090 and WAC
180-51-220 in this chapter. Local school boards may establish additional requirements for a high school and beyond plan to serve the needs and interests of its students. Any decision on whether a student has met the requirement of a high school and beyond plan shall be made by the district.
(3) A graduation pathway option. Students must meet the requirements of at least one of nine graduation pathway options in chapter
28A.655 RCW and WAC
