PROCLAMATION
OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR
[December 18, 1996]
The severe winter storm which began November 19, 1996 is continuing to
cause extensive damage in Washington State.
WHEREAS, extensive damages are occurring to roads, homes, and businesses
in Klickitat County; and
WHEREAS, persons and property are and will be without power for an
extended period of time and life and property are at risk in Klickitat
County; and
NOW THEREFORE, I, MIKE LOWRY, Governor of the state of Washington as a
result of the aforementioned situation and under RCW 43.06 and 38.52, do
hereby amend the proclamation of November 20, 1996, and further proclaim
that a State of Emergency exists in Klickitat County and authorize
execution of the Washington State Comprehensive Emergency Management
Plan.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the state of
Washington to be affixed at Olympia, this 18th day of December, A.D., Nineteen Hundred
and Ninety-six.
